Matthew 7:1-6 | Judgement and Hypocrisy

Matthew 7:1-6 is part of the Sermon on the Mount, a collection of teachings given by Jesus Christ in the Gospel of Matthew. In these verses, Jesus addresses the topic of judgment and hypocrisy. He begins by warning his listeners not to judge others, saying "Do not judge, or you too will be judged." He goes on to explain that the same standard of judgment that is applied to others will also be applied to oneself, and that those who judge others will be judged with the same severity that they use to judge others. Jesus then gives the example of a person with a plank in their eye trying to remove a speck from someone else's eye. He uses this illustration to show the absurdity of trying to fix others' faults while ignoring one's own.
